Kyren Williams, Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Running Back

Our thoughts on 2022 NFL rookie Running Back Kyren Williams.
Measurables:
5'9" 194 lbs. (2nd lightest running back in the combine)
4.65 40-yard dash (.02 from being the slowest running back at the combine)
32" Vertical jump
9'8" Broad jump
"Williams might have a long road to meaningful touches."
Strengths:
Williams has a short, compact body and runs low to the ground.
When hit, he bounces off tackles and displays natural balance.
He stays patient behind blocks when running inside and cuts away from trouble with quick controlled steps while keeping his legs moving through contact.
Kyren has reliable hands as a receiver tallying 42 catches with one drop in 202.
He has shown that he is not afraid of blitz pickups.
Back to back 1,000-yard rushing seasons with no significant injuries while averaging 20.5 offensive touches per game.
Williams is considered a high-character individual and was voted team captain as a sophomore.
Weaknesses:
He displays below-average speed and quickness while disappointing test results at the Combine.
His 40-yard dash and film suggest he lacks the speed needed to make outside in the NFL and doesn't have the power.
Kyren shows little shiftiness in the open field and can't maintain speed out of his cuts.
Rookies and fumbles are always a concern. Williams had eight fumbles over the past two seasons.
He is a willing blocker, but his lack of size allowed for 27 pressures the past two seasons.
Drunk Thoughts
Kyren Williams will be a popular late-round rookie draft pick mostly because he went to the Los Angeles Rams. If you don't believe that Cam Akers can bounce back, none have from this type of injury, then Williams isn't the worst option. If you are a Cam Akers owner, Williams isn't the worst option. In reality, he doesn't look like a game-changing running back that will win you a ton of fantasy weeks, and you probably will never know when you can start him. It may also be time to stop thinking a workhorse will be running back in any McVay offense.
