Our thoughts on 2022 NFL rookie wide receiver Jameson Williams.

  • 6'1" 180 lbs

  • 21.09 years old

  • 32 1/8" arms, 9 1/4" hands, 76 5/8" wingspan

  • No workout at the Combine or Pro Day due to left knee injury (ACL tear)

"Jameson Williams could be really special as a downfield weapon."

  • Track sprinter with elite speed.

  • Beats press with quick feet then explodes up-field.

  • Excellent body control to make adjustments mid-air.

  • Long, fluid strides help him track the ball and adjust downfield.

  • Jameson possesses some deceptive power in his legs through contact.

  • Twitchy lower legs help to force missed tackles.

  • Accumulated 279 special teams snaps and nine tackles.

  • Ten returns for 352 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Only the 3rd player in Alabama history to reach 1500 yards in a season.

  • One of 3 players in FBS last season to reach 1500 yards and 15 TDs.

  • Skinny, thin frame, needs to add some bulk.

  • Williams catches with his body and wrists at times.

  • Six drops and two fumbles in 2021 while holding the ball loose & away from his body.

  • One season of production after sitting behind Olave & Wilson at Ohio State.

  • Most of his great performances were against lower-level competition.

  • Limited as a blocker; needs to improve play strength.

  • Jameson tore his left ACL in the title game.

Drunk Thoughts

Only a one-year starter at Alabama after sitting behind Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson at Ohio State, Williams played the Z receiver role while receiving passes from a Heisman Trophy winner in Bryce Young. Jameson made a massive impact in his short time with the Crimson Tide, becoming the 3rd player in school history to catch for 1500 receiving yards in a season. Williams is currently rehabbing that left ACL injury, but when healthy has the elite speed to stretch the field and the instincts to be a home run threat. He should go in the top half of the 1st round of the 2022 NFL Draft and could be exceptional as a downfield weapon.
