Fantasy Football Rookie Chris Evans.
Our thoughts on 2021 dynasty fantasy football rookie Chris Evans.
Chris Evans, also known as Captain America. Evan’s is a running back out of Michigan and was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth round. Chris Evans’s measurables from his pro day have him five feet and eleven inches, 211 pounds, and ran a 4.51 forty-yard dash. Evans only had 25 touches over the last two years because of an academics suspension and the shortened 2020 season. Evans will be 24 in October.
"He is not the Captain America that saves your fantasy team."
Evans has ideal size and plays through contact. He is projected to be a decent receiving option on third downs. His best metrics are his burst and agility scores, both in the 90th plus percentile.
Chris Evans had a below-average fumble rate, which means that he fumbled the ball more than the average running back. Running backs that cannot hold onto the ball don’t have a long career in the NFL. Evans had five fumbles on 300 carries, which doesn’t seem like a ton, but he never had a majority of the running back reps. He wasn't entrusted to be the lead guy. Evans wasn’t trusted to carry the ball in college, and the fumble rate are two red flags.
At best, he's the number two, which isn't horrible when you backup a guy that gets hurt. Evans is a great stash if you are a Mixon owner, but there may be little long-term dynasty upside. He might prove otherwise but being a little older means he has fewer years to be fantasy relevant.
