Dynasty Fantasy Football Rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Amon-Ra St. Brown running the football.

Our thoughts on 2021 dynasty fantasy football rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, a wide receiver from USC, 5’11, 197 pounds with a breakout age of 18.9. On his Pro Day, he ran a 4.51 forty-yard dash and recorded a 38 inch vertical. Quite honestly, his break our age was the best PlayerProfiler.com metric he had. Brown comes from a family of athletes, including his brother. Amon-Ra is a five-star recruit out of high school, the number one recruit out of California, the 11th best overall in the nation, and the number two wide receiver. He was held under five catches in only six career games, four of which came as a freshman, and he had the most catches in a debut as a freshman in USC history.

"We aren't worried about Davante Adams because of his forty, don't worry about St. Brown either."

St. Brown displays excellent ball tracking and body control with the ability to go up against defenders and get the ball. He makes up for his lack of size with long arms and his vertical. He's able to go between, over, or through a defender with his body. With excellent vision after the catch, he weaves through traffic and finds a way to get extra yards. Amon-Ra doesn't shy away from contact or blocking, which is huge for a young receiver in the NFL.

Amon-Ra St. Brown uses head and shoulder fake-outs to set up his break. When he makes his move, he has a hard plant foot and sticks his foot into the ground. St. Brown has some versatility as he took snaps from the backfield and should allow him to see the field.

Dynasty Outlook

You can find a ton of talk about his speed, but he plays faster and above his size. He has been compared to Kennan Allen, and Allen ran a 4.71 at his Pro Day; Davante Adams ran a 4.56 forty. Don’t let the forty times fool you; you don’t need to be a blazing wideout. The speed guys are less versatile, and very few have been top fantasy producers; think every Raiders receiver. At a 2nd round ADP, you don’t have to gamble too much to pick him up and hope for the best.
